About The Position

At Block by Block, we employ Ambassadors to make public spaces better by making them friendlier, safer, and cleaner for the communities we serve. If you're outgoing and friendly, and enjoy working outside and meeting new people, we have just the job for you -- Hospitality Ambassador. This is also a great opportunity for retirees, veterans, and graduating high school seniors who are looking for their first job.

Requirements

• Must have a driver's license in good standing to drive the FRED mobile.
• Hospitality Experience
• Customer Service
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.

Nice To Haves

• Experience preferred, but not required. We will train.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of tasks to improve the overall experience and appearance of the zone they are assigned to.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal: remove litter, graffiti, and posters from streets, sidewalks, alleys, light posts, and trash cans. Pull weeds.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids and news boxes.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios.
• Complete basic daily reports of tasks completed.
