About The Position

Santiam Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Hospitalist to care for a close-knit community in STAYTON, OR. This progressive, patient-centered acute-care system serves over 40,000 individuals annually across multiple clinic locations. The Hospitalist will practice medicine in a personal, connected, and supported environment, close to outdoor recreation. The role involves practicing medicine within a physician-led culture dedicated to clinical excellence and professional autonomy. The Hospitalist will be an essential member of the medical staff, working alongside an on-site specialty team including General Cardiologist, Pulmonary Critical Care Physicians, Podiatrist, OBGYN’s, Orthopedic and General Surgeons. The position is for a board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, meeting community needs, strengthening access to preventive care, and managing chronic diseases. Requirements

  • Successful completion of a family medicine residency or an internal medicine residency accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the American Osteopathic Association.
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine, or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
  • Current licensure by the Oregon Medical Board to practice medicine.
  • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Current evidence of demonstrated competence and adequate experience to provide medical care at professionally acceptable quality and efficiency standards.
  • Approachable team player with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Serve to meet the community’s growing needs.
  • Strengthen access to preventive care.
  • Manage long-term chronic disease.
  • Practice evidence-based care.
  • Care for patients in a full-time position, equivalent to 14 shifts per month.
  • Manage patients in an open ICU (4 bed) with Pulmonologist and virtual ICU support.
  • Handle a day census of 12-20 patients split between MD and APP.
  • Manage a night census with 2-4 admissions on average.
  • Perform procedures (preferred but not required), with CRNA, Surgery, and ED available to assist.
  • Utilize EPIC for seamless patient care management.
