About The Position

Ascension St Vincent is seeking an experienced (PRN) OB hospitalist to serve the Indianapolis location. This role involves providing OB/GYN coverage in a quaternary care hospital, which is a level IV Perinatal Center with level I trauma verification and a Level IV NICU. The position will handle complex, high-risk obstetrics and gynecology services. As an academic center with an OB/GYN residency program, the role includes staffing residents and medical students. The hospital has a strategic vision to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality, with a commitment to Indiana Women and Children, including a new dedicated Women’s and Infants hospital scheduled to open in 2024. The hospital also provides on-site Maternal Fetal Medicine services.

Requirements

Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Nice To Haves

Teaching experience is desirable.
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

Duties include daily rounds, coverage of OB L&D and triage, ED OB coverage, and consultations.
Direct supervision of both ObGyn and Family Medicine residents.
Active participation in resident education and evaluation.
Active participation in student education and evaluation for learners from various medical schools and health programs.
