Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner (APRN) - Nights Gateway Regional Medical Center | Granite City, IL πŸ•– Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM | 15 Shifts Per Month | Full-Time Practice at the Top of Your License. You'll play a vital role in assessing patients, managing acute and chronic medical conditions, developing treatment plans, and ensuring continuity of care throughout each hospitalization. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program
  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure
  • National Nurse Practitioner certification in an applicable specialty
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
  • ACLS certification (or ability to obtain if required)
  • Current DEA registration and Illinois controlled substance license
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced inpatient environment

Responsibilities

  • Performing comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations
  • Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based clinical judgment
  • Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other tests
  • Developing individualized treatment plans and prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with Illinois law and collaborative practice agreements
  • Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning
  • Collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, pharmacists, case management, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate exceptional patient care
  • Maintaining accurate, timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
