About The Position
Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner (APRN) - Nights Gateway Regional Medical Center | Granite City, IL 🕖 Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM | 15 Shifts Per Month | Full-Time Practice at the Top of Your License. You'll play a vital role in assessing patients, managing acute and chronic medical conditions, developing treatment plans, and ensuring continuity of care throughout each hospitalization. Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure
- National Nurse Practitioner certification in an applicable specialty
- Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
- ACLS certification (or ability to obtain if required)
- Current DEA registration and Illinois controlled substance license
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced inpatient environment
Responsibilities
- Performing comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations
- Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based clinical judgment
- Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other tests
- Developing individualized treatment plans and prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with Illinois law and collaborative practice agreements
- Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning
- Collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, pharmacists, case management, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate exceptional patient care
- Maintaining accurate, timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
