About The Position

Grand River Health is seeking a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner to join their team. This role involves collaborating with hospital physicians to manage patient care for individuals with stable, acute, and chronic illnesses. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for ordering, interpreting, and documenting clinical tests, reporting results to physicians, and prescribing medications and therapeutic treatments. This position requires extensive experience, clinical expertise, and sound judgment to achieve patient care goals.

Requirements

  • Active Colorado DORA licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the applicable specialty area, with Colorado authority for advanced practice.
  • Current ACLS certification required upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced clinical concepts, assessment techniques, treatment planning, and evidence-based patient care practices.
  • Ability to accurately document patient histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, ethical standards, patient safety practices, and the proper use of medical equipment and clinical instruments.

Nice To Haves

  • ATLS certification preferred.
  • One to five years of experience as a Hospitalist or in a comparable clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care across the Emergency Department, ICU, Medical/Surgical, Cardiology, Step-Down, and Post-Surgical ICU units, including admissions, rounds, consultations, and discharge management.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic studies, including laboratory tests, EKGs, and radiologic imaging, under the supervision of the attending physician.
  • Perform procedures, conduct device interrogations, and manage complex arrhythmia's and medication regimens.
  • Coordinate rehabilitation services, home health care, follow-up care, and post-operative management to ensure continuity of care.
  • Stabilize patients requiring advanced cardiovascular or trauma life support and coordinate transfer to specialized care when necessary.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans for patients across the lifespan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
