About The Position

Manchester Memorial Hospital is growing and seeking a nights Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a close-knit, collaborative team. This Advanced Practice group works cohesively to deliver high-quality inpatient care and is excited to welcome a new provider as we continue to grow and expand. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice in a smaller community-focused setting while maintaining a wide clinical scope and autonomy with room for your professional growth! The role is open to Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners and is located at 71 Haynes Street, Manchester, 06040. This is an inpatient medicine, hospitalist setting with a full-time nights schedule. Premium differentials and incentives are offered, and there is no call schedule. Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients. In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists. Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician. Manchester Memorial Hospital is a respected community hospital with 249 patient beds, serving patients throughout the Greater Manchester region. Requirements

  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Acute Care-certified)
  • 1+ year's Advanced Practice experience in a hospitalist or similar setting

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine physical examinations.
  • Formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols.
  • Identify problems outside of their scope of practice and refer appropriately to physician.
