About The Position

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) MD/DO Hospitalist with experience in Respiratory and Critical Care to join our inpatient team. This role focuses exclusively on inpatient care within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The schedule involves a 7 on / 7 off rotation, with on-site presence from 7 AM to 7 PM and on-call duties from 7 PM to 7 AM. The position requires proficiency in a range of critical care procedures and ventilator management. Candidates must be comfortable utilizing EPIC and Dragon for documentation. A Michigan license or eligibility for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is required. ACLS certification is mandatory.

Requirements

  • MD/DO degree.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE).
  • Experience in Respiratory and Critical Care.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Michigan license or eligibility for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
  • Ability to submit and verify 50 inpatient logs from the last 12 months.
  • Proctoring is mandatory for five instances of each core procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide focused inpatient care within the ICU.
  • Perform core privileges and procedures including Moderate Sedation, Lumbar Puncture, Endotracheal Intubation and Extubation, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Ventilator Management, Chest Tube Insertion, Insertion of PICC, Arterial, Central Venous Lines, Arterial Line Insertion and Removal, Tracheostomy Care, Management of tension pneumothorax, and External pacing.
  • Manage ventilator settings, assess readiness for respiratory weaning, and evaluate the need for intubation.
  • Utilize EPIC and Dragon for documentation.
  • Present and verify 50 inpatient logs from the last 12 months.
