We are seeking a growth-minded Internal Medicine physician to divide clinical time between inpatient hospitalist medicine and complex urgent care for seniors. This unique role is centered on caring for medically complex patients in innovative ways, including providing high-acuity outpatient alternatives to hospitalization. Approximately 60 to 70 percent of shifts are inpatient hospitalist shifts, with the remaining shifts in complex urgent care. The schedule is thoughtfully integrated across these settings, creating variety in practice while supporting balance and flexibility. Requirements

  • Unrestricted Washington State medical license by employment date
  • Current Washington State DEA certificate by employment date
  • Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Managed care experience
  • One or more years of experience post-training
  • Experience caring for complex geriatric patients

Responsibilities

  • Divide clinical time between inpatient hospitalist medicine and complex urgent care for seniors.
  • Care for medically complex patients in innovative ways, including providing high-acuity outpatient alternatives to hospitalization.
  • Provide inpatient hospitalist care, working closely with ICU, emergency department, specialty, and palliative care partners.
  • Work in the Optum Advantage Clinic, providing a high-touch alternative to the emergency department and hospitalization for eligible patients, including intensive outpatient treatment.
  • Provide services such as IV diuresis, IV antibiotics, expedited virtual specialty consultation, imaging including X-ray and CT, and procedures in the Optum Advantage Clinic.
