About The Position

Join an expanding, high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) dedicated to caring for critically ill patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. As a Per Diem front-line CICU Hospitalist, you will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary model to develop and execute complex care plans on an as-needed basis to support unit capacity and scheduling gaps.

Requirements

MD Degree.
Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children’s, and assigned medical center(s).
Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington or State within WAMI region.
Federal DEA Registration.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire (only if required for special privileges).
Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.

Experience in pediatric emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary, front-line provider—responding to bedside inquiries, entering orders, communicating with consultants, and updating families during assigned shifts.
Partner with Cardiology, Heart Failure, and Cardiac Critical Care Attendings to ensure clinical plans are implemented efficiently.
Work alongside fellows, APPs, and trainees, providing clinical education and escalating care concerns when appropriate.
Adapt to a dynamic inpatient environment to support optimum patient care and team depth during peak census or staffing shortages.
