About The Position

This is office support and clerical work on a ward at a state institution. Work includes maintaining general patient treatment and medical records, ordering supplies and equipment, cleaning kitchen, picking up and delivering pharmacy prescriptions, and serving as a ward receptionist. Work is performed under general supervision.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent which includes office practices coursework or training and education such as vocational technical institute or adult education clerical coursework or secretarial school -OR- equivalent clerical office work experience and one (1) year direct care experience to mentally or physically disabled individuals in a mental health or developmental disabilities facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to applicants with medical record experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and audits patient charts in EHR for accuracy.
  • Picks up, sorts, and distributes mail for the ward to ensure staff and patients receive mail on a timely basis.
  • Orders, picks up and/or delivers various office and ward related materials and supplies including laundry, kitchen and office supplies, and other materials to ensure ward is properly supplied.
  • Answers telephone and takes messages for staff and patients on ward in order to ensure messages are delivered.
  • Completes maintenance work orders to initiate the repair work needed.
