Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
  • 1-2 years' experience in marketing, hospital development or other health related field preferred
  • Prior experience working with electronic medical records preferred
  • Understand regulations and standards of hospital accrediting agencies and organizations
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to communicate professionally across multiple health disciplines
  • Understand federal and state laws regarding donation (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Rounding per the Hospital Services (HS) process to broaden and strengthen support throughout the hospital.
  • Assess and maintain active referrals to maximize donation opportunities.
  • Interface with hospital staff for updates on referred potential donors including responding onsite in real time as needed to lead in overcoming any hospital barriers to donation such as, physician disagreement with approach process or concerns with brain dead (BD) exams etc.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with key hospital staff members by ensuring professionalism, respect and timely communication
  • Provides process compliance support to facilitate organ and tissue donation.
  • Effectively communicates After Action Reviews, QAPI’s, Annual Plans and any policy and procedure changes to Key Hospital Contacts
  • Provides assistance at assigned hospitals in meeting federal and state laws and regulations regarding donation
  • Promote “Donate Life Month” activities to include a culture of donation and celebration.
