Requirements

  • Active Michigan Pharmacist license required
  • Strong knowledge of medication safety, regulatory compliance, and clinical pharmacology
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical teams
  • Ability to work independently and respond to urgent patient care needs

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of pharmacist experience preferred
  • Hospital pharmacist experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and interpret physician medication orders for accuracy and safety
  • Dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient use in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Monitor for drug interactions, contraindications, and therapeutic effectiveness
  • Serve as a clinical resource to physicians, nurses, and care teams on medication therapy
  • Support antibiotic and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives
  • Prepare and oversee IV medications and admixtures per policy
  • Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and investigate discrepancies
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications, including hazardous drugs
  • Restock emergency medications, crash carts, and automated dispensing areas
  • Assist with maintaining hospital formulary and medication inventory levels
  • Participate in patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance efforts
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe and effective patient care
  • Provide education to clinical staff on medication use and new drug therapies
  • Support pharmacy operations during scheduled and on-call coverage as needed
