About The Position

The Wake Hospital Medicine team is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to provide flexible inpatient coverage across multiple Wake Region Hospital Medicine locations. This PRN position supports Hospital Medicine services throughout the Wake Region and reports directly to the APP Manager. The role provides coverage for PTO, FMLA, illness call-outs, and periods of high patient census. Schedules are developed every three months in collaboration with the APP Manager and scheduling team. The schedule may be modified to accommodate unexpected call-outs, emergencies, or changes in patient census, with notice provided no later than 6:00 p.m. the day before whenever feasible. Every effort will be made to minimize the number of different services and hospital locations worked within the same week and to provide continuity of patient care assignments. Coverage may be assigned at any of the following Wake Region Hospital Medicine locations: Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center – Winston-Salem, Davie Medical Center – Bermuda Run, High Point Medical Center – High Point, Lexington Medical Center – Lexington, Wilkes Medical Center – North Wilkesboro.
