About The Position

The Hospital Lab Technician II is responsible for the receiving and processing of clinical laboratory specimens, loading specimens in various analyzers, scanning specimens for storage, and answering laboratory inquiries from various hospital units or from various healthcare providers. This role may also include helping in the transportation of laboratory specimen to and from the East Tower building. A Phlebotomy license is preferred but not required. Those who hold a phlebotomy license may be asked to help with blood drawing from time to time.

Requirements

Minimum one-year lab tech experience in a fast-paced acute care setting in Chemistry, Reference lab and/or Microbiology sections
Required Anatomy Knowledge
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

One-year pathology experience
High School graduate or equivalent
Phlebotomy license
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
