About The Position
Valley Forge Medical Center is seeking an experienced and dependable Environmental Services Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hospital housekeeping/environmental services department. The ideal candidate will have prior hospital environmental services experience, strong leadership skills, and a solid understanding of healthcare cleanliness standards and state licensing requirements. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Requirements
- Previous hospital environmental services experience required
- Prior management or supervisory experience required
- Strong understanding of state licensing and regulatory requirements related to environmental services in healthcare settings
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must successfully pass criminal background screening
- Must successfully pass drug screening
- Reliable attendance and professionalism required
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Environmental Services Department within the hospital setting
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate environmental services staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, OSHA guidelines, and state licensing requirements related to environmental services
- Conduct routine inspections to maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility
- Monitor inventory, supplies, and departmental budgets
- Collaborate with nursing, administration, and other departments to support quality patient care environments
- Address staff performance issues and maintain productivity standards
- Maintain accurate regulatory and safety documentation
- Interview, hire, and train staff
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures relating to Environmental Services
- Manage inventory of supplies, chemicals, and toiletries
- Establish vendor relations for supplies & materials
- Purchase and maintain cleaning equipment
