About The Position

Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital of Wilmington is seeking a Hospital Administrator to lead our newest location in Wilmington, North Carolina, opening in late fall 2026. This brand-new, 16,000 sq ft facility (with planned expansion to 24,000 sq ft) has been thoughtfully designed to support high-quality emergency and specialty care while allowing room for continued growth as the hospital scales up. Working in close partnership with the partner veterinarians Melissa Stoll, DVM, DACVS, and Paige Harrington, DVM, and the Directors of Operations and Team Development, the Hospital Administrator will play a central role in building the hospital from the ground up—establishing workflows, shaping culture, and driving operational excellence from day one. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role where your impact is immediate and visible. You will oversee all non-clinical operations, including team development, financial performance, client experience, and process optimization. From hiring and onboarding a new team to implementing systems that support efficiency and quality, you will help create a hospital that reflects both clinical excellence and a strong, sustainable culture. As the Points East Group continues to expand, Wilmington represents an exciting new chapter—bringing trusted emergency and specialty services to a rapidly growing coastal community. With support from established sister hospitals in Wilson, Greenville, and Fayetteville, you will not be starting from scratch—but you will have the autonomy to shape how this hospital operates and grows. Requirements

Experience preferably in a healthcare or veterinary medicine
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a high aptitude for learning
Can make decisions quickly and confidently to keep the hospital moving forward
Is resourceful and can find solutions to non-standard situations
Possesses resilience while navigating through difficult situations
Enjoys directing and planning daily workflow and operational processes
Is skilled in conflict management with the ability to diffuse tense situations
Is naturally empathetic and craves connections with team members and clients
Enjoys unpredictable, fast-paced days with broad responsibilities

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage a growing team of veterinary professionals from veterinary assistants to veterinarians
Function as the daily decision-maker and “go-to” resource to address issues while working to create systems to reduce preventable ones
Help develop and optimize workflow into consistent and methodical processes
Work closely to develop a healthy and sustainable organizational structure to reach the full potential of the team and each member
Serve as a culture champion and lead by example with a positive “can-do” outlook
Guide, manage and develop department managers and promote a collective effort
Continually challenge the ceiling on client experience and team development
