About The Position
Dependable Hospice is growing in the Phoenix community and is seeking compassionate volunteers to make a difference. The immediate need is for in-office support, with potential future opportunities to provide companionship and support to hospice patients and their families in their homes. Even one hour per week can have a meaningful impact.
Requirements
- Kind heart and a desire to help others
- Commitment to at least one hour per week
- Respectful, patient, and reliable
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of the importance of privacy and confidentiality
- Interest in supporting hospice patients, families, and staff
Nice To Haves
- No hospice experience is required. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with light office and administrative tasks
- Preparing patient or family support materials
- Organizing supplies and completing special projects
- Helping with community outreach activities
- Making friendly phone calls to patients or families
- Providing companionship to hospice patients in their homes
- Offering a listening ear, conversation, or quiet presence
- Supporting patients and families through thoughtful cards, crafts, or other activities
