About The Position

Moments Hospice is hiring a Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, engage, and support volunteers who contribute to patient comfort and dignity. The role is primarily community-based, with outreach across local organizations and responsibility for meeting volunteer recruitment and engagement targets in an assigned territory. The position offers a supportive team environment, clear expectations, reasonable caseloads, on-call support, and a flexible schedule.

Requirements

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to engage and recruit volunteers effectively.
Experience in public speaking and community outreach.
Availability for evening and weekend activities as required.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in the field.
Proficiency in organizing and hosting events.
Knowledge of local community organizations and groups.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Introduce volunteers to patients.
Conduct one speaking engagement per week.
Complete 35–40 community touch points per week at organizations such as churches, synagogues, senior centers, rotary clubs, civic groups, colleges, VFWs, assisted living facilities, and other community organizations.
Post flyers and distribute volunteer recruitment materials.
Attend job fairs and host volunteer recruitment events.
Ensure 20 volunteer applications are completed per month for the assigned territory.
Convert at least 10% of applications into active volunteers.
Spend the majority of work time in the community rather than in the office.
