About The Position

ANX is seeking a compassionate and organized Hospice Volunteer/Bereavement Manager to oversee their volunteer and bereavement program. The successful candidate will recruit, train, and support volunteers who provide emotional and practical support to patients and families facing terminal illness. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. ANX was founded in 2007 by nurses with a vision for client-focused quality care. They provide home healthcare services and 24/7 hospice care. Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in volunteer management or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassion, empathy, and understanding of end-of-life care.
• Organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in hospice or healthcare settings.
• Certification in volunteer management (e.g., CVM, CVMC).
• Knowledge of hospice philosophy and end-of-life care.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, and train volunteers to meet organizational needs.
• Develop and implement volunteer retention strategies.
• Provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to volunteers.
• Conduct regular check-ins and evaluations.
• Ensure volunteers understand and adhere to patient and family needs.
• Facilitate communication between volunteers, patients, and healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and databases.
• Manage volunteer schedules, assignments, and timekeeping.
• Foster relationships with local organizations and community groups.
• Promote the hospice volunteer program.
• Provide families and facilities needed bereavement support.
