About The Position

IntellaTriage is seeking a compassionate registered nurse to provide remote, after-hours telephone triage for hospice patients and their families. The nurse assesses patient needs, helps determine timely next steps, and coordinates care with on-call teams using client-customized protocols. The role supports hospice providers and their patients during non-core hours and requires professionalism, empathy, accurate documentation, and the ability to manage urgent calls in a fast-paced environment.

This is a remote, part-time position with scheduled shifts of 3:30 p.m.–11 p.m. and rotating Saturday and Sunday shifts of 7:30 a.m.–4 p.m. CST. The position requires consistent attendance, active communication, and reliable internet connectivity during scheduled shifts. IntellaTriage provides three weeks of paid remote training and describes its clinical team as supportive.

Requirements

• Active multistate Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Comfort with technology and electronic medical records (EMR) used to document calls.
• Ability and comfort typing documentation and notes in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle stress and multitask while receiving calls.
• Strong communication and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Consistent attendance, active communication, and reliable internet connectivity during scheduled shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in hospice, palliative, or end-of-life care is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone triage for hospice patients and families.
• Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate next steps.
• Collaborate with on-call teams to coordinate care and resources.
• Accurately document communications and interventions.
• Maintain a calm and professional demeanor while handling urgent calls.

Benefits

• Base pay of $25 per hour, with opportunities to increase the hourly rate to as much as $28 within the first six months of hire.
• $2 shift differential for overnight shifts and $2 shift differential for weekend shifts (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday).
• Paid remote training for three weeks.
