Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of healthcare scheduling experience (hospice or home health preferred)
  • Experience with EMR/scheduling platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy standards
  • A compassionate mindset and genuine desire to support patients and families

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for hospice field staff
  • Match clinician assignments with patient needs, skill sets, and geographic areas
  • Partner with clinical leadership to manage open visits and PTO coverage
  • Establish and track hospice benefit periods accurately
  • Schedule required face-to-face visits with nurse practitioners
  • Respond quickly and professionally to urgent or last-minute scheduling needs
  • Communicate schedule updates clearly with field staff and leadership
  • Review visit logs and support documentation compliance
  • Maintain accurate records in EMR and scheduling systems
  • Serve as a key liaison between clinical and administrative teams
  • Support onboarding by coordinating schedules for new hires
  • Contribute to team meetings and process improvements
