About The Position

The RN Clinical Nurse provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. The nurse is accountable for delivering compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy, and collaborates with the care team to achieve high-quality patient outcomes. The role also supports innovation, professional growth, mentoring, engagement, and development.

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN licensure.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Non-BSN nurses with less than one year of licensed Registered Nurse experience at hire must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within five years of hire.
• Department-specific certifications and experience may apply, including ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, and labor-and-delivery experience, as specified in the posting.
• Ability to move freely, stand, stoop, walk, bend, push, and pull, and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and relevant competencies to assess patients’ physical conditions and nursing needs, and develop collaborative plans of care.
• Coordinate patient care needs with the interprofessional team to support high-quality care and clinical outcomes.
• Provide specialty-specific clinical care appropriate to patients’ ages, developmental needs, and cultures.
• Identify opportunities to improve the patient experience, streamline care processes, lower costs, and improve quality and satisfaction.
• Contribute to a professional environment that supports mentoring, engagement, and development of clinicians.
• Consult with physicians and other interprofessional team members, maintaining positive relationships and collaborating to solve problems and improve patient care.
• Anticipate and proactively manage risks to prevent crises.
• Perform skillfully in life-threatening emergencies, matching demands and resources during crisis situations.
