About The Position

Advantage is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join its hospice team in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, and surrounding areas. The role provides personalized support and comfort to people facing end-of-life challenges, primarily in the familiar surroundings of their homes, as well as in a hospice facility. The nurse assesses patient needs, develops individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team, provides skilled nursing care, administers medications, monitors vital signs, and manages symptoms to support patient comfort. The role also includes educating and supporting patients and families, coordinating care with healthcare professionals and community resources, and offering emotional support and counseling. Requirements

• Active RN license in the state where practicing, or eligibility to take the NCLEX as a new graduate.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.

• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in hospice, palliative care, or a related field; preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of hospice regulations and practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in their homes or in a hospice facility.
• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medication, monitor vital signs, and manage symptoms to ensure patient comfort.
• Educate and support patients and their families regarding end-of-life care and symptom management.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and community resources.
• Offer emotional support, counseling, and education to patients and their families, addressing their needs and concerns.
