About The Position

AccentCare is hiring a full-time, day-shift Hospice Aide / CNA in Largo, Maryland, serving the Prince George coverage area from Hyattsville to Brandywine and Accokeek. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position is not remote and offers $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience.

The Hospice Aide provides compassionate, hands-on care to hospice patients in their homes or care facilities. The role supports patients’ comfort, safety, dignity, and daily living needs while adapting to different care environments and following infection-control and safety protocols. Care may involve frequent physical activity, occasional driving, and lifting up to 200 pounds with assistance.

Requirements

• State certification as a nurse’s aide, completion of required training, and a score of at least 85% on the agency’s competency exam; state-specific credentials may apply (for example, CGNA in Maryland).
• Be listed on the state aide registry with a clear record and eligible to provide care in homes, nursing facilities, or hospitals.
• Have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and state-required auto insurance.
• Ability to assist with lifting up to 200 pounds with assistance.
• CPR certification is required for direct patient care in Georgia and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospice patients with hands-on assistance, including personal hygiene, repositioning, and mobility support.
• Support patients in their homes or care facilities through walking, standing, reaching, and occasional driving to provide timely, dignified end-of-life care.
• Monitor patients’ comfort, respond to their needs, and assist with activities of daily living while maintaining safety and dignity.
• Adapt to home and facility conditions, including temperature changes, moderate noise, and standard healthcare exposures, while following infection-control and safety protocols.
