About The Position

Hospice Intake & Admissions Manager Lead the front door to compassionate hospice care. JSSA's Hospice program is seeking an experienced and compassionate Intake & Admissions Manager to lead the clinical and administrative operations of our Intake and Admissions team. This critical leadership role oversees the referral, intake, and admission process, ensuring patients and families receive timely, high-quality service while supporting strong relationships with referral sources and community partners. As the Intake & Admissions Manager, you will provide direct supervision and clinical oversight to intake, admissions, and clinical liaison staff; support hiring, onboarding, competency validation, and performance management; and ensure adequate staffing to meet patient and organizational needs. You will serve as a key liaison across hospice departments, monitor admission quality and regulatory compliance, and use clinical judgment and operational expertise to resolve issues and improve processes. This position also plays an essential role in telephone triage and referral management, responding to inquiries from patients, families, discharge planners, and community partners, providing accurate information about hospice services, addressing clinical concerns, coordinating referrals, and supporting the conversion of inquiries into admissions. The manager serves as the clinical expert for intake and admission documentation, collaborates closely with liaison staff, and ensures all communications and EMR documentation are comprehensive, accurate, and timely. The ideal candidate is a strong nurse leader who is passionate about exceptional patient care, staff development, customer service, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include evaluating referral and admission trends, analyzing operational data, conducting team meetings, communicating policy and regulatory changes, and providing hands-on clinical support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active Maryland RN license
  • Minimum two years of hospice clinical experience
  • Experience leading and developing nursing staff
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with EMRs, telemedicine platforms, Microsoft 365, and data analysis/reporting tools
