About The Position

The Per Diem Hospice House (HH) Registered Nurse (RN) passionately embraces the hospice philosophy, using teaching, assessment, and intervention skills to provide top-notch end-of-life care. They coordinate services, offering compassion and support to those in the terminal stage of illness and their families, following care plans and agency policies. The Per Diem Hospice House RN also oversees LPNs, CNAs, and volunteers in the hospice house while on site.

Requirements

Current unrestricted Washington state License as a professional Registered Nurse.
Minimum availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to independently drive within Tri-Cities Chaplaincy’s service areas.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.
Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS).
Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health.
Ability to report to the assigned work location(s) as scheduled and maintain consistent, reliable attendance.
Demonstrate support and adherence to the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Participate in education and outreach activities to promote agency programs.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with agency policies, procedures, and practices.
Protect patient and agency information per HIPAA guidelines.
Maintain reliable personal transportation.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance per state requirements.
Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization, declinations, or approved accommodations as applicable.
Pass criminal background and drug screenings.
Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs.
Complete ongoing education, policy reviews, and training by designated deadlines.
Maintain current licensure(s) and certifications(s) required for the role.
Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
Be available to work as assigned or scheduled.

Nice To Haves

Hospice Experience, Oncology and/or Home Health Experience as a CNA, LPN or RN.
Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.
