About The Position

Halcyon Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant to support its geriatric hospice population in North Austin, South Austin, Texas, and surrounding areas. The role provides direct patient care under the direction of an RN and in accordance with the Aide Plan of Care. The position is paid at $25 per visit.

Requirements

• Current CNA certification in Texas.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Kind and patient demeanor, with a commitment to providing dignified care.

Nice To Haves

• Proven experience in hospice or senior care is preferred.
• Hospice experience or experience in a related field, with a desire to learn about home healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of the RN and according to the Aide Plan of Care.
• Assist patients with safe transfers and ambulation in accordance with hospice policy.
• Report changes in patients’ conditions and document pertinent information and care provided to support continuity of care.
• Practice accepted infection-control principles.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Communicate positively, supportively, and respectfully with patients, families, and other employees.
• Respect patients’ privacy and property.
• Assist patients with proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake.
• Contribute to the efficient operation of the hospice and demonstrate effective time management.
• Perform treatments and procedures according to hospice policy.
• Promote the hospice philosophy and administrative policies to support quality care.
