About The Position
Cape Fear Valley Hospice, part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, is hiring a full-time Home and Community Based Services Aide to support hospice patients in their homes. The role provides personal care, assistance with hygiene and daily living, and household support so individuals can remain in their own homes. The position involves in-home visits and travel within Cumberland, Hoke, and Robeson counties. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The aide supports patients and their families while helping maintain a safe home environment. The role requires a current North Carolina CNA certification, and in-home aides who are not listed on the nurse aide registry must have their core competencies verified by a registered nurse. Candidates must have a current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation.
Requirements
- Current North Carolina CNA certification.
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation.
- For in-home aides not listed on the nurse aide registry, verification of core competencies by a registered nurse.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPR certification, or ability to complete it within 90 days of hire.
- At least 6 months of home care experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours and independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and ambulation.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Support household tasks and meal preparation.
- Accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed.
- Monitor and document client condition, vital signs, and incidents.
- Maintain confidentiality and use the EVV system.
- Ensure a safe environment and operate medical equipment properly.
- Respond promptly to client needs.
- Provide care in any home situation regardless of the client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
