About The Position
As a Home and Community-Based Services Aide with Elite Hospice, part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, you will support an individual with personal hygiene and household functions so they can remain in their own home. The role includes providing personal care, helping with daily living activities and household tasks, monitoring and documenting the client’s condition, and helping maintain a safe environment. You must be able to function in any home situation regardless of a client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition. Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. The hourly pay range is $14.00 to $22.60 based on full-time employment. Benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation.
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPR certification or ability to complete it within 90 days of hire.
- Six or more months of home care experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours and independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, and medication reminders.
- Support household tasks and meal preparation.
- Accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed.
- Monitor and document client condition, vital signs, and incidents.
- Maintain confidentiality and use the EVV system.
- Ensure a safe environment, operate medical equipment properly, and respond promptly to client needs.
- Function in any home situation regardless of the client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
