About The Position
Elite Hospice, part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Home and Community Based Services Aide supports individuals with personal hygiene and household functions so they can remain in their own homes. The role provides personalized care and comfort while building trusted relationships with clients. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation.
- Pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPR certification or ability to complete it within 90 days of hire.
- At least 6 months of home care experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours and independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, and medication reminders.
- Support household tasks and meal preparation, and accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed.
- Monitor and document client condition, vital signs, and incidents; maintain confidentiality and use the EVV system.
- Help ensure a safe environment, operate medical equipment properly, and respond promptly to client needs.
- Provide care in any home situation regardless of the client's age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
