About The Position

Enhabit Home Health & Hospice is seeking a Hospice Nursing Aide to provide personal care to hospice patients, assist family members with basic caregiving routines, and keep supervising registered nurses informed about patients’ progress and families’ needs. The role includes help with bedding, clothing, bathing, hygiene, and keeping wound dressings clean and dry. The posting describes the position as PRN.

Requirements

Meet one of the following experience requirements: at least one year of full-time direct client care experience in an institutional setting such as a hospital or nursing facility; or one year of direct client care experience within the last five years in a home health or hospice setting.
Be registered and listed in good standing on the nurse aide registry in the state of employment.
Have basic demonstrated technology skills, including operating a mobile device.
Possess a valid state driver license.
Maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law.
Maintain dependable transportation in good working condition.
Be able to safely drive an automobile in all types of weather conditions.
Complete training and a competency evaluation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Possess CPR certification.
Meet applicable state-specific education or certification requirements.

May demonstrate an active willingness to learn required skills in lieu of existing technology skills.

Responsibilities

Assist hospice patients with personal care, including changing bedding and clothing and bathing.
Help patients with hygiene routines such as brushing teeth and washing hair, and keep wound dressings clean and dry.
Instruct family members on basic health-care routines for caring for terminally ill relatives.
Consult regularly with supervising registered nurses about patients’ progression and families’ needs.
