About The Position

Interim Healthcare is expanding its hospice services in the Houston metro area and seeks a compassionate Chaplain to support patients and their families. The position is initially envisioned as PRN or part-time and may transition to full-time as the hospice service line grows. The Chaplain provides spiritual support and counseling, conducts spiritual assessments, develops and participates in care planning, and works with the interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care. The role also includes facilitating requested spiritual or religious rituals, crisis intervention, bereavement support, regulatory compliance, and participation in biweekly interdisciplinary team meetings.

Requirements

• Endorsement by a recognized religious/spiritual body.
• Experience in hospice or healthcare chaplaincy.
• Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and communication skills.
• Understanding of and sensitivity to a diverse patient population and their varied belief systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual support and counseling to patients and their families.
• Conduct spiritual assessments of patients and implement appropriate care plans.
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
• Facilitate religious or spiritual rituals as requested by patients.
• Offer crisis intervention and bereavement support.
• Participate in the development and delivery of patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding spiritual care.
• Participate in biweekly interdisciplinary team meetings.
