About The Position

Serenity Hospice Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Chaplain to serve patients and families in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties in New Jersey. The Chaplain assesses patients’ and families’ spiritual and religious needs, arranges support in accordance with their wishes, and supports families through bereavement. The role includes providing spiritual counseling and emotional support, contributing to care planning, and collaborating and communicating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Administrative duties include answering emails and voicemails and charting in the patient database. The Chaplain is expected to uphold Serenity Hospice’s philosophy of care, values, mission, and organizational culture.

Requirements

At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
Ability to provide interfaith spiritual care, demonstrating cultural and theological competence when working with diverse faith and belief systems.
Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of supervised experience in a medical, educational, or religious agency or institution is preferred.

Responsibilities
