Chaplain Hospice

Gentiva Hospice•Spirit Lake, IA

About The Position

Gentiva Hospice is seeking a compassionate Hospice Chaplain to provide non-denominational spiritual and emotional support to patients and families facing end-of-life care. Chaplains offer comfort, guidance, and meaning while respecting each person’s beliefs, values, faith, spiritual traditions, and cultural background. The role is an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and helps ensure patients and families do not face this journey alone. The position includes assessing spiritual needs and creating individualized spiritual care plans; visiting patients and families and providing requested prayers, blessings, or rituals; supporting families through grief, loss, and transition; and providing bereavement support and counseling. Chaplains also collaborate with clinical colleagues, connect patients and families with local faith leaders and community resources, and maintain timely, accurate documentation of spiritual assessments, interventions, and outcomes. This is a safety-sensitive position. Employees must meet minimum requirements to be eligible for benefits and, where applicable, state-specific requirements. Gentiva is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a drug-free workplace.
