About The Position

Absolute Home Health & Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Chaplain for part-time or full-time work. The chaplain provides comfort, spiritual guidance, and emotional support to hospice patients and their loved ones throughout the hospice journey, building meaningful connections and helping patients and families find peace, strength, and support in ways that honor their individual beliefs and values.

Requirements

Experience providing counseling or spiritual support to individuals from diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds.
Knowledge of the religious and spiritual communities within the hospice service area.
Ability to connect with and support patients and families from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Understanding of and commitment to the hospice philosophy of care.
Willingness to participate in on-call coverage.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and state-required auto liability insurance.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, manage responsibilities effectively, and maintain a professional, respectful, and positive attitude.
Reliable and punctual attendance.

Nice To Haves

A degree from an accredited theological school is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide spiritual and emotional support to hospice patients and their families.
Offer compassionate guidance that respects each person's faith, beliefs, values, and spiritual preferences.
Support patients and loved ones as they navigate challenges and transitions associated with end-of-life care.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to help meet each patient's unique needs.
Participate in on-call coverage.
