Walla Walla Community Hospice is seeking a Spiritual Support Counselor (Hospice Chaplain) to join our interdisciplinary care team. The Spiritual Support Counselor (SSC) provides spiritual assessment, counseling, and support to patients and families in accordance with the patient’s beliefs and preferences. This position collaborates closely with nursing, social work, and medical providers to ensure holistic end-of-life care. The ideal candidate demonstrates emotional intelligence, cultural humility, and the ability to support individuals of all faith traditions or no faith tradition. Purpose The Spiritual Support Counselor (SSC) is responsible for providing spiritual and emotional support and counseling to patients, families, and care teams throughout the end-old-life journey. The SSC facilitates connection with local clergy, pastoral counselors, or other individuals who can support the patient’s spiritual needs. The SSC also serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team.
