About The Position

Spirit Hospice of Georgia is growing quickly, and we're looking for a Hospice Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys details, loves solving problems, and takes pride in making sure claims are accurate, compliant, and paid on time. Requirements

  • Previous hospice billing experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare hospice reimbursement requirements
  • Experience working with claims submission and denial management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while remaining a team player
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit hospice claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
  • Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
  • Research and resolve billing issues, denials, and payment discrepancies
  • Post payments and adjustments accurately
  • Assist with accounts receivable management and collection activities
  • Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation supports billing
  • Verify patient insurance information and eligibility when needed
  • Maintain compliance with all hospice billing regulations and payer requirements
  • Assist with reporting and revenue cycle tracking
  • Support ongoing process improvements as we continue to grow
