About The Position
At St. Croix Hospice, Hospice Aides (CNAs) serve patients and families during an important life journey by bringing expert care, dignity, and compassion to the homes they visit. The Hospice Aide is an essential member of the interdisciplinary care team and provides compassionate, hands-on care to patients in their homes under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role supports patients with personal care and daily living activities to promote comfort, dignity, safety, and quality of life at the end of life. The position is based in the Brighton, Michigan office, with patient responsibilities in and around the Lansing, Michigan area. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., full time, with rotational weekends. Travel to patient homes is required throughout the day.
Requirements
- Current CNA certification in the state of practice.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and auto insurance.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, skin and nail care, oral hygiene, and dressing and undressing.
- Record vital signs and report observations to the care team.
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding as needed.
- Promote patient comfort, dignity, and safety.
- Travel to patient homes throughout the day and provide care as scheduled.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
- Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse as part of the interdisciplinary care team.
