About The Position

The Hospice Aide/CNA provides hands-on care and support to hospice patients in homes or care facilities in Denton County. The role includes assisting with personal hygiene, repositioning, mobility, and daily living activities while monitoring patient comfort and responding to needs. Requirements

• Be certified by the state as a nurse’s aide, complete required training, and pass the agency’s competency exam with a score of 85% or higher; additional requirements vary by state.
• Hold CPR certification for direct patient care in Georgia and Washington.
• Be listed on the state aide registry with a clear record and be eligible to provide care in homes, nursing facilities, or hospitals.
• Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and state-required auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to hospice patients, including assistance with personal hygiene, repositioning, and mobility.
• Support patients in their homes or care facilities through frequent movement and physical activity, including walking, standing, reaching, and occasional driving.
• Monitor patient comfort, respond to patient needs, and assist with activities of daily living while maintaining safety and dignity.
• Adapt to varying home and facility conditions, including temperature changes, moderate noise, and standard healthcare exposures, while following infection-control and safety protocols.
