About The Position

Optimal Care is seeking a dedicated Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, skilled hospice care with a predictable schedule. This role involves delivering expert nursing care and emotional support to patients and families during overnight hours, responding to urgent needs, and ensuring comfort, dignity, and peace at end of life. The position is ideal for an experienced RN who thrives in autonomous practice and is confident making critical clinical decisions in real time. The nurse will provide symptom management, skilled nursing interventions, and compassionate support, collaborating with physicians, hospice leadership, and the interdisciplinary team. The role requires daily travel within the Lansing service area to provide care in patients' homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
Current State License as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 1 year experience as a nurse in a clinical care setting
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and valid automobile insurance coverage
Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Hospice or home health experience
Previous after-hours or on-call experience
