RN / Registered Nurse - Hospice Admissions
About The Position
Hospice Home Care is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered hospice admissions care in the Little Rock, Arkansas area. The nurse visits people referred for hospice care in settings such as homes, hospitals, and nursing facilities; explains hospice services and discusses care goals with patients and families; and completes assessments and arrangements for starting services. The role involves working independently while receiving team support and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team. Hospice Home Care focuses on managing patients’ pain and other symptoms while providing emotional and spiritual support to families. Its holistic services include routine home care, respite, general inpatient care, and continuous care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Current licensure to practice in the state of operation.
- One year of hospice nursing experience; experience in a similar setting such as long-term care, intensive care, or an emergency room may be considered instead.
- Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and in good working order.

- Three or more years of hospice nursing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Visit patients referred for hospice care in homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other settings.
- Explain hospice services, discuss goals and care with patients and families, answer questions, and obtain necessary consents and legal documents.
- Obtain medical histories, current medication information, and symptom information.
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessments to determine hospice eligibility under Medicare and insurance guidelines.
- Coordinate the start of services, including nursing, aides, equipment, and medications.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
