About The Position

Bos Landscaping is looking for an experienced Horticulturist Lead Person to maintain and enhance High-End residential properties and/or Commercial/Industrial sites. We are looking for someone with a true passion for gardening, horticulture, and landscape design who takes pride in maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. This role is much more than just grass cutting and routine maintenance, it involves caring for and developing high-end gardens, identifying enhancement opportunities, and contributing to the overall appearance and health of each property. The ideal candidate will bring strong horticultural knowledge and experience and will be comfortable providing guidance and support to more junior team members in the field.

Requirements

  • Landscape maintenance: 3-5 years.
  • Adequate plant knowledge.
  • Passion for gardening, horticulture, and landscape design.
  • Ability to perform physical outdoor work including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in varying weather conditions.
  • Experience maintaining high-end gardens and outdoor spaces.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for enhancements and make informed recommendations.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to support and guide junior team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Required Licenses or certifications, including a valid Ontario G License.
  • Own transportation to work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all the gardens around the buildings including regular inspections.
  • Identify and control any insect/disease issues, weed control.
  • Installation of plants, monitor existing plants and make overall aesthetic recommendations.
  • Maintain gardens including watering, pruning, planting, grooming, fertilizing, removing debris, edging, weeding, dead heading and repotting.
  • Identify opportunities for garden enhancements and additional landscape improvements.
  • Provide support, guidance, and horticultural knowledge to junior team members when required.
  • Ability to operate horticulture equipment including lawnmower, line trimmer, back-pack blower, hedge trimmer etc.
  • Clean and maintain all equipment, tools and materials.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Follow company health and safety practices and procedures at all times.
  • When required perform other duties as assigned.
