About The Position
The horticulture seasonal position maintains garden beds, planters, and hanging baskets consisting of annuals and perennials across the city. Maintenance includes weeding, planting, watering, mulching, and rototilling. Other duties of this position include grass cutting/edging of garden beds and parks, and greenhouse operations. This is a full-time seasonal position with an anticipated term of employment until November 8, 2026. Successful candidates will be expected to be available for the full duration of the employment term and attend mandatory training.
Requirements
- OSSD (or equivalent)
- Valid Class G Driver’s License with an abstract acceptable to City guidelines
- Experience in landscaping, horticulture, greenhouse operations, and other related work experience
Responsibilities
- Maintains garden beds, planters, and hanging baskets consisting of annuals and perennials across the city.
- Performs weeding, planting, watering, mulching, and rototilling.
- Cuts grass and edges garden beds and parks.
- Operates greenhouse operations.
- Provides exceptional service to the city's green spaces and sports fields.
- Fosters positive interactions with the public.
