About The Position

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Horticulture Adjunct Instructor. This role will be based at the Floyd County Campus and may require travel to other campuses. The instructor will be responsible for teaching program-specific content in Floral Design using an established curriculum. Key duties include preparing instructional materials and facilitating an engaging learning environment to promote student growth and skill development. This position requires an on-campus presence and does not offer telework.

Requirements

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Horticulture or related field OR industry experience or specialized/related training with an emphasis on demonstrated competencies and achievements.
  • Three (3) years’ paid work experience in the field within the past seven (7) years.
  • Work experience must include the competencies, skills, and knowledge levels included in the Horticulture instructional program.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Horticulture or related discipline.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience.
  • Curriculum development experience.
  • Program recruitment experience in a two-year college environment.
  • Excellent technology and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach program-specific content using an established curriculum, with an emphasis on Floral Design knowledge and experience.
  • Prepare materials needed for course instruction.
  • Facilitate a focused and engaging learning environment that fosters student growth and increased skill performance.
  • Travel to other campuses to meet operational requirements.
