About The Position

Responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the Hopkins Community Center including front desk and clerical activities; monitoring the facility; providing information to patrons, program participants, instructors, staff, and volunteers; and ensuring the District’s customer service standards and procedures are practiced.

Requirements

  • Well organized and strong ability to work independently as well as with others.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedules.
  • Ability to be proficient and understand technology including the District’s electronic registration software, website navigation, and Microsoft products.
  • Ability to perform cashier duties accurately.
  • Ability to follow directions and give clear instructions.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle negative feedback from patrons.
  • Ability to portray a professional image of the District.
  • Possess and maintain CPR/AED and First aid certifications or obtain within two months of employment.

  • Preference given to individuals 18 years of age or older.
  • Preference given to individuals with prior cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical and administrative duties including answering phones, responding to inquiries, cashiering, registering participants, making copies, and filing.
  • Assist in district rentals including facility, park, and shelter rentals.
  • Assists in the set-up and tear down of equipment for various park and recreation programs or events; prepares facilities for designated program use.
  • Open, close, and secure facilities according to established procedures.
  • Perform regular building inspections and facility rounds while completing occasional custodial duties.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and reports.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating appropriate behavior, language, and attitude at all times.
  • Support risk management efforts by identifying potential hazards and following established safety procedures.
  • Provide first aid as needed.
  • Present a professional appearance and wear appropriate attire.
  • Remain knowledgeable about general district information including seasonal programs and events, facility spaces, and district amenities.
  • Follow all district policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including emergency behavior management procedures.
  • Supervise facility rentals.
  • Provide backup to related positions when possible.
