The Hope Coach serves adolescents and their caregivers by using the evidence-based Science of Hope framework. Through various digital communication methods (such as voice calls, messaging, chat, email, and live sessions), Coaches work collaboratively with students and/or caregivers to create a supportive and encouraging environment for personal growth. They provide education and guidance to promote goal setting, enhance motivation, and strengthen coping skills, especially for those at risk of disengagement, trauma, or mental health challenges. Using a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and non-clinical approach, Hope Coaches help participants identify meaningful goals, develop strategies to achieve those goals (referred to as pathways), and build the confidence and persistence (known as agency) needed to follow through—skills that are critical for long-term success and well-being. Coaches are trained to recognize when a student or caregiver may benefit from professional assistance and can facilitate appropriate referrals to mental health therapists or other specialists.
