About The Position

The Homewood Museum Coordinator provides overall assistance and security to the museum, with a primary responsibility for visitor services. This role involves opening and closing the museum, handling payments through a POS system, welcoming guests, and performing basic office and maintenance duties. The position serves as the primary on-site staff during weekend operating hours and supports special weekend activities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary on-site staff person during weekend hours of operation
  • Open and close site on weekend days.
  • Oversee and support any special weekend site activities
  • Take payment for admissions as shop sales using POS system
  • Welcome guests and provide basic information about the history of the site and how to navigate it.
  • Notify supervisor of any problems with house or collections (damage, theft, etc.).
  • Perform general office duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
