About The Position

As a Homeroom Teacher at Al-Furqan Elementary School in Ottawa, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and social development of young learners. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Certification or eligibility for certification with the Ontario College of Teachers.
  • Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Ontario elementary curriculum and teaching standards.
  • Clear criminal background check and compliance with child protection policies.

  • Experience teaching in a multicultural or faith-based school environment.
  • Additional qualifications in special education or English as a Second Language (ESL).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across multiple subjects in accordance with the Ontario curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through various evaluation methods, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and development.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development sessions, and collaborative planning with fellow educators.
