About The Position
The primary function is to provide personal assistance services to the patient under the IDG Plan of Care, in their place of residence; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with patients and family, and share observations and problems with the supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions in English effectively.
- Demonstrates interest in the welfare of the ill and elderly.
- Competent to perform tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid and current auto liability insurance.
- Must agree to and pass a criminal history check.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in providing services to individuals needing homemaker/companion assistance, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Promote positive, supportive, respectful communication with patients/families and other employees.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Provide an environment that promotes respect for patients, privacy, and property.
- Provides light housekeeping, laundry services, errands, and assists with meal preparation, per plan of care.
- Provide necessary skills to appropriately report changes to ensure continuity of care.
- Practice accepted infection control principles.
- Provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the patient.
- Provide skills necessary to perform assigned functions according to agency policy.
- Contribute to the management and efficient operation of the agency and demonstrate effective time management skills.
- Demonstrate commitment, professional growth, and competency by attending required in-services.
