About The Position

Guardian Angel Senior Services is seeking mature, responsible Homemakers to provide support services that help disabled or dependent individuals remain safely and comfortably in their own homes. Homemakers provide household assistance and observe and report relevant changes in clients’ circumstances. They must follow agency policies and safety standards, maintain confidentiality and professional relationships, and complete required documentation. Homemakers may not perform personal care or transfers, administer medications, provide medical advice, or provide other services outside the stated scope of the role.

Scheduling is coordinated by office staff, and Homemakers provide their availability weekly. Annual performance evaluations take place after a 90-day probationary period. Guardian Angel Senior Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the listed protected grounds.

Requirements

• Able to read, write, and speak English.
• Physically and emotionally capable of performing the role.
• Maintain a clean, insured vehicle.
• Maintain email access for schedules and updates.

Nice To Haves

• Prior home care experience is helpful.
• CPR/First Aid, Alzheimer’s, or Hospice certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accept only assignments for which they are qualified.
• Follow safety standards and agency policies.
• Promptly communicate concerns to the agency.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain strict client confidentiality.
• Report concerns of abuse or neglect.
• Maintain a professional, therapeutic relationship with clients.
• Keep email access for schedules and updates.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean, insured vehicle.
• Plan, prepare, and serve meals.
• Shop for food and household supplies.
• Make beds; clean, dust, mop, and vacuum; clean bathrooms and kitchens; and wash dishes.
• Report changes in a client’s physical, mental, or behavioral condition.
• Report changes in family situations or emergencies.
• Communicate requests for service-plan or schedule changes.
• Provide weekly availability.
